CHAUTAUQUA – Marvin E. Latta Jr., 52, of Webber Road, passed away
unexpectedly Friday, October 28, 2016.
He was born December 16, 1963 in Westfield, son of Carolyn Utley Latta and
the late Marvin E. Latta Sr.
Marvin was a former member of the Chautauqua Fire Department.
He enjoyed NASCAR, ranger rides in the woods, helping in any and every way
he could, family time, and so much more. He was a man filled with so much
wisdom, knowledge, and compassion. He loved his family with all of his
heart.
He is survived by his mother Carolyn Latta of Mayville; three children
Danielle (Cody) Jacobson of Mayville, Marvin E. "Chevy" Latta III of
Dewittville, and Jamie Latta of Sherman; three grandchildren, Alexis,
Nickalis and Brina Jacobson; his companion, Brooke Walters of Sherman; his
former wife, Gretchen Cook Latta; one brother, Edward Latta of Jamestown;
three sisters, Christine Latta of Taylorville, IL., Darlene Scoville and
Charlene Robinson (Jason) of Springfield, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin E. Latta Sr and his nephew,
Jordan Robinson.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at the Freay Funeral
Home in Mayville. Rev. Carmen Perry of the Hurlbut Memorial Community
United Methodist Church in Chautauqua, will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Thursday and from 10 to 11
prior to the funeral on Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends are
welcome to go to the American Legion in Mayville following the service to
honor the man we all knew him to be.
