MAYVILLE-Maxine Virginia "Ginny" Moss Long, 89, of Mayville, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk, NY.

She was born November 12, 1932, in Westfield, NY the daughter of the late William and Ruth VanGiesen Moss.

Ginny was a 1950 graduate of Mayville Central School. She had worked as an insurance secretary for Mayville Tremaine Agency.

She was a member of the Mayville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Hartfield Fire Department Auxiliary.

Ginny enjoyed quilting, crafting, cross stitching, snowmobiling, camping at their family camp, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband; Elliott Clifford Long, whom she married October 16, 1950, two sons; Jeff (Beth) Long of Farmington, NY, and Jerold (Christine) Long of Apollo Beach, FL, five grandchildren; Bryan (Molly) Long of Williamsville, NY, Brent (Amy) Long of Fairport, NY, Joshua (Shelley) Long of Mesquite, TX, Nathan (Gina) of Tallahassee, FL, and Amanda (Ryan) Moore of Brooksville, FL, nine great grandchildren, one brother; Mike Moss of Mayville, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister; Jessie Syper, and two brothers; Bill Moss and Jim Moss.

The funeral will be held at 3PM on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Mayville United Methodist Church (81 S. Erie St). The Rev. Mark Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the start of the service (2-3PM) at the church.
