MAYVILLE- May L. Busch Rothra, 82, of Mayville, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA.

She was born April 11, 1937 in Mayville, NY, the daughter of the late Marion and E. Marguerite Harnaman Busch.

May had worked for Ethan Allen in Mayville as a wood finisher. She also worked many years at Davies Restaurant and for Rosie's Posies Flower Shop.

She was a member of the, the Westfield VFW Post 6764, American Legion Post #327, the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, and the Westfield Moose Lodge 118 for which she was a member for over fifty years.

May enjoyed gardening, dancing, traveling, the casinos, cruises, painting and spending the winter months with John in Florida for several years.

She is survived by her loving companion; John Lewis, Sr of Mayville daughter Sherry Durham of Clymer NY,  Arden  (Brenda) Ohlsson of Sherman, also by John's daughter  Connie Whitermore of Jamestown and son John (Maria) Lewis Jr, of Sherman, five grandchildren; Nicole Ohlsson, Jason Ohlsson, Marty Ohlsson, Stacey (Gary) Warner, Cale (Melissa) Warner, five great grandchildren, and one brother; William (Nancy) Busch of Latrobe, PA.  She is also survived by her pets Chatterbox, Buddy, Mitzy and Belle.  They miss her very much.

May was preceded in death by her parents and her late husband; Shirley "Shirt" Rothra who died in 2003.

The funeral will be held at 11AM on Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St). The Rev Thomas Jordan will officiate. Burial by request will be private in the Mayville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-5PM on Sunday, August 18, at the funeral home.
