Merlin enjoyed his family, being outdoors, hunting, cutting wood, traveling, wintering in Florida, and spending time at the family farm and cabin. He also enjoyed sports, rooting for the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was affectionately known as “Crack” from friends going back to his own high school baseball days.

Merlin is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Delcamp Hall, whom he married July 11, 1959, four children, Philip (Mary) Hall of Sugar Grove, PA, Bradley (Cindy) Hall of Dewittville, NY, Linda (Dan) Tota of Jamestown, NY and Lori (Charles) Holder of Bemus Point, NY, twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
