Bemus Point- Nancy Ann Chesbro, 72, of Bemus Point passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA.

She was born February 23, 1947 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Donald and Henrietta Acker Sedlmayer.

She was a 1965 graduate of Mayville Central School. As a young adult she spent five years as a Nun at the Franciscan Missionary of the Divine Child in Williamsville, NY. In later years she worked for Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. as a Home Health Aide and as cafeteria worker for Chautauqua Lake Central School.

Nancy was a member of the Mayville Senior Citizens, the American Legion Auxiliary, the St. James RC Church in Jamestown where she served as a Communicant, and a previous member of St. Mary of Lourdes RC Church in Mayville.

She enjoyed serving and bringing joy to others. For many years she traveled the US in an RV with her late husband and daughter hosting Lewis and Clark presentations at campgrounds. For six years she and her daughter put on a junior Ranger Program at the Harris Beach State Campground in Oregon. Nancy was a MAJOR toy donor and supporter of Toys for Tots.

Nancy is survived by her three siblings; Walter (Elizabeth) Sedlmayer of Fredonia, NY, Gary (Bernice) Sedlmayer of Dunkirk, NY, and Dorothy (Gary) Hall of Bemus Point, NY, seven nieces and nephews; Abigail Rexford, Rebecca Sedlmayer, Anthony Sedlmayer, Aaron Sedlmayer, Hiedi Sedlmayer, Eric hall, and Andrew Hall, and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; V.B. "Red" Chesbro, whom she married June 3, 1972 in Mayville, NY, her daughter; Michele Lynn Chesbro, two sons; Noel J. Chesbro and Donald Joseph Chesbro, and her parents.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the St. James RC Church in Jamestown, NY (27 Allen St). Father Darrell Duffy will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
