MAYVILLE-Norma Elaine Thayer Pettit, 78, of Columbus, OH, and formerly of Mayville, died, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Laurels of Northworth Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coumbus, OH.

She was born November 17, 1939 in the Town of Chautauqua, the daughter of the late Glenn and Ethel Dorman Thayer.

Norma had been the office manager for Westfield Dodge City.

She belonged to the Lucille Ball Little Theater and the Jerome United Methodist Church in Plain City, OH.

Norma enjoyed sewing and costuming, quilting, crocheting and needlepoint, traveling, camping, and water aerobics.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law; Jon (Linda) Pettit of Delaware, OH, her two grandchildren; Erica S Pettit of Redmond, WA, and Michelle L. Pettit of Delaware, OH, and a brother; Malcolm Thayer, of Clermont, FL.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter; Shelly Pettit, and three sisters; Lillian Thayer, June Thayer Niles, and Marilyn Thayer Wilson.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2PM at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. The Rev. Michael Childs will officiate. Burial will be in Mayville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for one and a half hours before the service, at the funeral home. (12:30 to 2PM).
