SHERMAN- Norman Herbert McIntyre, 82, of Sherman, NY, was called home on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the Heritage Green Skilled Nursing Facility.

He was born April 24, 1941, to Kenneth McIntyre and Elma Marvin McIntyre Moore in the little house on the Arthur Waite farm in Clarks Corners, Poland Township, Kennedy, NY.

He attended Clymer Central School in Clymer, NY.  He spent three years in the United States Army as a Medical Supply Clerk. He retired from Sherman Central School in January 2005 after working as a Custodian for 24 years. He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association Chapter in Franklin, PA, the Prayer Warriors. He also attended the First Baptist Church in Spartansburg, PA, and the First Baptist of Franklin, PA.

Norman is survived by his daughters; Patricia (Grossman) Gary of Union City, PA, Colleen (Carlson) Gary of Lander, PA, Heather Sanborn of Jamestown, NY, and April (Gourley) Jeff of Russell, PA, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one brother, David McIntyre of Asheboro, NC, four stepbrothers: Ron Moore, Roger Moore, James Moore, and Mitch Moore, and a stepsister, Joy Lou.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra L Rodgers McIntyre, his parents, a stepfather, Willie Moore, and a sister, Nancy Hitchcock.

The funeral will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville, NY (139 S. Erie St). Visitation will be for two hours prior to the funeral (10 AM to Noon), at the funeral home. The Rev. Daniel Prewitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Mina Cemetery.
