MAYVILLE – Patricia Jean Hanson Scott, 87, of Lincoln St., Mayville, died Thursday (December 25, 2014) at her home.
She was born April 25, 1927 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Herbert and Alice Johnson Hanson.
Before retirement she was a Elementary Teacher at Mayville Central School.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mayville and was past president of Episcopal Church Women. She was also a member of Mayville Library Association, The Tuesday Club, she was a longtime volunteer at Mayville Food Pantry and Thrift Shop, a member of Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and had been a hospital volunteer and Auxiliary Board member.
She enjoyed playing bridge with friends, knitting, and playing golf in the women's league
She is survived by one son Craig F. (Roberta) Scott of Cheektowaga; one daughter Pennifer A. (Joseph) McCartney of Mayville; three grandsons Raymond Scott of Denver, CO., Robert Scott of Orlando, FL., and Andrew (Megan) McCartney of Lakewood; one granddaughter Megan McCartney of Mayville; 4 great grandsons Spencer Hall, Max McCartney, Liam McCartney and Noah Scott.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond E. Scott whom she married July 15, 1950 in Jamestown and who died February 2, 1986, also a great grandson Evan S. McCartney.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 31, 2014) in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mayville. Rev. Dr. Richard Elberfield Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Tuesday (Dec. 30, 2014) in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville.
