BEMUS POINT- Paul Theodore Kranking, 87, of Bemus Point, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown, NY following a brief illness.

He was born July 7, 1935, in Fayetteville, NY, the son of the late Paul F. and Georgiana Jewtraw Kranking.

Paul had worked for MATCO Tools in Lakewood, NY for twenty-two years as a welder and then worked for twenty years at Home Depot in Lakewood, NY. He was a member of the Jamestown American Legion Ira Lou Springs Post 149. Paul enjoyed old cars, car shows, cooking and baking, old TV shows, dancing, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years; Dorothy Hallett Kranking, whom he married on May 10, 1986, in Lakewood, NY, four children and five bonus children; Crystal (Skip) Shore, Dawn (Mark) Kranking, Eugene "Mike" Kranking, Paula Kranking, Dennis (Sandy) Cornell, Jeff LeBarron, Patty (Fred) Saddler, Dodie English, and Andrea (Gene) Adams, twenty-four grandchildren, and many great and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Carolyn Ross and Michael Kranking, and a sister: Edna Brown.

The funeral will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St). The Rev. Daniel Prewitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 PM before the service, at the funeral home.
