PANAMA- Ralph B. Asel Jr., 83, of Panama, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown, NY.

He was born February 28, 1939, in Jamestown NY, the son of the late Ralph B. Asel Sr. and Beatrice Stans Asel.

Ralph had attended Maple Grove High School. He then proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1962. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a custodian at Clymer Central School where he retired from.

He had been a member of the Panama Fire Department and Fire Police. He enjoyed working on vehicles, hunting, and fishing and was known as a person who would help anyone out.

Ralph is survived by three children; Michael (Laura) Asel of Stow, NY, Ralph B. Asel III of Ashville, NY and Penny (David) Kuczynski of Erie, PA, sixteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild and two brothers; Donald Asel of Jamestown, NY and Robert (Chris) Asel of Jamestown, NY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Ida M. Stevens Asel whom he married October 30, 1959 two children; Rodney Asel and Connie Asel, and one sister; Joyce Asel.

At Ralph's request, there will be no public services observed. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
