DEWITTVILLE – Ralph E. Hamby, 74, of Meadows Road, Dewittville, died Thursday (July 25, 2013) at home.

He was born April 14, 1939 in Welch, WV, the son of the late John and Virginia McGlamory Hamby.

Ralph was a veteran of the US Navy for 23 years, he had also worked at Ethan Allen in Mayville.

Ralph enjoyed hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Jenkins Hamby whom he married September 2, 1961 in Jamestown, NY; four children, Ralph Hamby Jr. of Du Bois, PA, Virginia Hamby of Celeron, Richard Hamby of Warrenton, VA, and Robin Hamby of Jamestown, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and over 70 Foster Children for over 23 years, seven brothers and sisters, Stella Helmandollar of WV, Loraine Bubelka of FL, Bill Hamby of Mich., Jane Reeves of WI., Jean Hamby of ILL.. Jim Hamby of Iowa, and Lucille Salas of Mich.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Christeen Hamby and Corinne Hamby; six brothers, Clarence, Douglas, Robert, Richard, Jacob, and John Jr.

No services or visitation will be observed.
