Richard D. "Dick" Cochran

Richard D. "Dick" Cochran, 82, of Westfield, and formerly of Sherman, and Sierra Vista, AZ, died Monday, April 2, 2018 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie, PA.

He was born January 28, 1936 in Clymer, NY, the son of the late Orie and Ethel Lewis Cochran.

Dick had been an Iron Worker with the local 348 in Erie, PA.

He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army and member of the American Legion.

Dick loved the outdoors and anything to do with forestry. His interests included hunting, fishing, bird watching, animals of the forest, his dogs, gun collecting, and walking the national parks.

He is survived by a son; Kevin Nellis of Tucson, AZ, a daughter; Kelly (Zeb) Smith of Westfield, an adopted niece; Patti (Jerry) Dudley of Dewittville, eight grandchildren; Katelyn Smith and Jared Smith, Kimberly Nellis and Kevin Nellis Jr, Jason, Jamie, and Jon Dudley, four sisters; Cindy (Lamont) Cupp, Dolores Moon, Diana Cochran, and Judy Cochran and a brother; Paul (Carol) Cochran.

Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Robinson Cochran, whom he married February 19, 1971 in Mayville, NY, two brothers; Arthur Cochran, and David Bowen and a nephew; Robbie Cupp.

The funeral will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 at 1PM at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. The Rev Dan Prewitt will officiate. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends for two hours, 11Am to 1PM, before the service, at the funeral home.
