MAYVILLE- Richard "Dick" Joseph Remick, 79, of Mayville, died on December 3, 2017 at the Greenfield Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster, NY.
He was born September 14, 1938 in Rome, NY, the son of the late Stanley and Stella Slaga Remick.
Dick had been an engineer with the New York State Department of Transportation. Dick had a long career as Chautauqua County DOT Resident Engineer in Mayville, NY.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed sailing on Chautauqua Lake,, motorcycle riding, and winters in Florida. Dick loved playing tennis with his children and many friends, coaching youth hockey, and water sports on Chautauqua Lake with his family. Did took pleasure in playing the piano, organ and accordion.
Dick was very active in the Catholic church in Florida and New York.
Dick is survived by his four children; Mark (Carol) Remick of Ashville, NC, the Rev. Todd Remick of Bemus Point, NY, Brett (Amy) of Williamsville, NY, and Amy (Eric) Grossman of Hamburg, NY, four grandchildren; Max and Spencer Remick, and Sydney and Cole Grossman, his sister; Bernadette O'Berg, his brother-in-law Bill Iverson and five nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Ann Iverson Remick, whom he married March 2, 1963 in Schaghticoke, NY, and his parents. Stanley and Stella Slaga
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday December 9, 2017 at 10am, at the St Mary of Lourdes RC Church in Mayville, NY. Father Todd Remick will officiate. Burial will be in Mayville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM on Friday December 8, 2017 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S Erie St).
