MAYVILLE- Robert A. "Bob" Kester, 83, of Mayville, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, at The Residence at Presque Isle, PA following a lengthy illness.

Bob was born December 8, 1938, in East Aurora, NY the son of the late George and Ruth Weber Kester. He was a graduate of East Aurora High School and Cornell University where he earned a degree in Agricultural Finance. He then worked as the CEO for Farm Credit of Western New York in Batavia, NY where he retired from.

He was a life member of the Mayville American legion Post 493 and the Lake Chautauqua VFW Post 8647, St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Mayville where he held positions on the church council and financial secretary, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Westfield, NY, the Rod and Gun Club in Lakewood, NY, and had been on the Mayville Village Board and the Mayville Zoning Board.

Bob enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, and boating. He particularly enjoyed boating in Canada, snowmobiling trips out west, and traveling in the United States, Europe, and Cancun, MX. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife; Mary Lee Finley Kester, whom he married July 2, 1960, in Holland, NY, and two sons; Jeffrey (JoAnn) Kester of Bemus Point, NY, and Gregory (Tamara) Kester of Peachtree City, Ga, four grandchildren; Corinna (Timothy) Hooge of Buffalo, NY, Christina (Burt) Anderson of Bemus Point, NY, 2 ^nd Lieutenant Jake Kester of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH, and Airman 1 ^st Class Casey Kester of Niagara falls Air Reserve Base, Niagara Falls, NY, two great-grandchildren; Griffin and Gigi Hooge, one brother; Dale (Rita) Kester of Ashville, NY, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Jim Kester, Marjorie Szulewski, and Mary Ellen Lewis.

Visitation will be held Friday September 9, 2022 from 11:00AM - 1:00PM with the memorial service immediately following at St Mark's Lutheran Church (20 E. Marvin St, Mayville, NY 14757). The Rev. Richard Elberfeld will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
