WESTFIELD – Judge, Ronald E. Magnes, 82, of Westfield, died Saturday (January 17, 2015) at home.
He was born June 22, 1932 in Chicago, ILL the son of the late Herman and Fae Ray Magnes.
Ronald graduated in 1960 from the University of Miami. He was an Assistant State Attorney from 1965 to 1981, and then he was a Circuit Court Judge from 1981 to 1996 in Chicago.
He enjoyed traveling, horse races, reading the newspaper, and he loved Las Vegas.
He had several friends, some of which were lifelong friends that he enjoyed and loved their friendship.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Lynn Magnes whom he married October 8, 2008 in Las Vegas; a daughter, Susan (Philip) Kantor; a son, Phillip (Anne) Magnes; four grandchildren, Ben, Jeremy, Cameron, and Jack; a brother, Gerald Magnes; and two nephews; three step children, Michael, Brandi, and Carson; three step grandchildren, Maddison, Allison, and Aaron.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Magnes who he was married to for 49 wonderful years.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday (January 31, 2015) in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville, NY. Rev. Cathy Smith from Hospice Chautauqua County will officiate.
