MAYVILLE – Ronald L. "Ronny" Nelson, 71, of 1 Meadow Lane, Mayville, died Friday (July 19, 2013) in Absolut at Westfield.
He was born May 10, 1942 in Buffalo, NY the son of the late Walter A. and Hildagard Pellnat Nelson.
Ronny had attended Sherman Central School. He had been the Supervisor of Maintenance on the night division at the former Mayville Central School. He had also previously been the night watchman at the Peacock Inn in Mayville.
Ronny enjoyed hunting, collecting archery equipment, and listening to music.
He is survived by two sisters, Judy (Bob) Smith of Mayville, and Robin Nelson Khakpour of Rochester; a nephew, David Smith of Laurel, Maryland; aunt and uncle, Gerald (Mary) Schermer of Rochester.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville. Rev. Mark Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in the Mina Cemetery.
No visitation will be observed.
