JAMESTOWN- Roy William Robbins, 80, of Jamestown and formerly of Mayville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown, NY.

He was born September 8, 1941, in Dunkirk, NY, the son of the late William C. and Susanna Horlacher Robbins.

Roy was a 1959 graduate of Mayville Central School. He then proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1962 and served in the Naval Reserves until 1988. After his honorable discharge he earned a Bachelors Degree in Arts from Fredonia State University as well as several Associates Degree's. He then worked as a Plant Maintenance Electrician for Cummins Inc, in Lakewood NY where he retired from.

He was a member of the Celoron American Legion Herman Kent Post 777, a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Celoron, and a former member of the Jamestown War Vets.

Roy enjoyed genealogy research, recording music, playing his accordion, rooting for his beloved Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, was an avid chess player and was a lifelong hero having recently donated his 79 ^th pint of blood to the American Red Cross. His biggest joy was being a family man and spending time with his loved ones.

Roy is survived by his loving companion of twenty-eight years, Sheryl Marsh, a son; Dennis (Becky) Robbins of Jamestown, NY, a daughter; Lori (Lanre) Robbins of Columbus, IN, a daughter in law; Julie Robbins of Newton, NJ, a step son; Ron (Rae) Seeley Jr of Jamestown, NY, six grandsons; James, Craig, Chad (Geysanni), Greg, Michael, Robbins and Jacob Stansbury, one great granddaughter; Blaise Robbins, one sister; Sharon (David) Fryer of Portland, NY, one niece; Robin (Ron) Rafan of Brocton and two great nieces; Heather (Nick) Eckstrom and Gabrielle Rafan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; retired Lieutenant Colonel Jason Robbins, a sister; Margie Robbins, and an aunt; Elizabeth Horlacher.

A celebration of life will be held at the Celoron American Legion Herman Kent Post 777 from 6-8PM on Thursday, February 3, 2022 (26 Jackson St, Jamestown, NY 14701). A memorial graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring or summer at the convenience of the family and will be announced.
