HARTFIELD- Stanley "Stan" Elton Harrington, 93, of Hartfield, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at his home.

He was born December 4, 1926 in Hartfield, NY, the son of the late Clarence and Beatrice Link Harrington.

Stan had owned and operated a dairy and beef farm in Hartfield for over forty years. He had also been a school bus driver for Mayville Central School for fifty-eight years, the longest for any bus driver in New York State, having driven over one million miles accident free.

He was a graduate of Mayville Central School, class of 1945, a member and past officer for Chautauqua County FFA, a member of NEDCO Milk Cooperative, a past member of the Hartfield Memorial EUB Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent, and Trustee, a current member of the Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church, and was a charter member of the Hartfield Fire Department.

Stan enjoyed farming, restoring old tractors, church activities, horse activities, and time with his family.

He is survived by his wife; Marion Joyce Hotchkiss Harrington, whom he married December 14, 1947 in the Hartfield Memorial Church, two sons; Ronald James (Kay) Harrington of Dewittville, Donald J (Sue) Harrington of Stockton, two daughters; Mina K. (David) Covert of Prattsburgh, NY, Rachel Ann Harrington of Jamestown, TN, seven grandchildren; Jason (Tracy) Harrington, Travis (Stacey) Harrington, Jesse (Shelley) Harrington, Joshua (Missy) Harrington, Keri (Marc) Clements, Joel (Jaime) Covert, and Heather (Ron) Hausauer, sixteen great grandchildren, one sister; Joyce (Roger) Dann of Rocky Mount, NC, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and various four legged grand and great grandchildren.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters; Dorothy Luke and Jeanne Juke.

A private funeral will be held at the Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in the Dewittville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 South Erie St) where social distancing will be observed, and masks must be worn while in the funeral home.
