DEWITTVILLE- Susan M. Hurley, 75, of Dewittville, NY, passed away at home with her family by her side on Monday, April 14, 2025.  She was born on April 24, 1949, in Erie, PA, the daughter of the late William Gressley and the late Patricia Jeane Russell Church.

She was a 1967 graduate of Rancho Alamitos High School in Garden Grove, CA. Sue's greatest joy was her family and being a wonderful homemaker. She also worked as a store clerk for several businesses including Borders Books and Music and JCPenney. Sue enjoyed crafting, sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, and her rescue pets. She also enjoyed traveling, having visited England and Scotland.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, Jim Hurley, whom she married on May 20, 1972, at Saint Columban Catholic Church in Garden Grove, CA, her daughter, Mary Kate Hurley of Jamestown, NY, her brother, Bill Gressley of Eastvale, CA, her best friend since high school, Jerrie Osborne of Rossmoor, CA, her diabetic alert dog, Phoebe, and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 South Erie Street). Father Raymond Donohue will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour before the funeral at the funeral home (10:30 am - 11:30 am)
