MAYVILLE – Susan M. Anderson, 74, of Mayville, died Friday (Nov. 13, 2015) in WCA Hospital in Jamestown.
She was born August 5, 1941 in Jamestown, NY the daughter of the late Walter and Esther Jacobson Merriam.
Sue was a hairdresser in the Mayville area for 48 years. Since May 1985 she owned and operated Sue's Beauty Shop in Mayville retiring in 2009.
She enjoyed reading, sending cards to family and friends, her relationships with all her customers and friends, going to lunch with the Lady 59ers, a group of her classmates that had lunch together once a month and she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, David L. Anderson whom she married August 4, 1962 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Mayville; a daughter, Marcy (Dan) Roush of Mayville; four granddaughters, Jade Anderson of Erie, PA, Hannah, Hailey, and Hayden Roush all of Mayville; two great grandsons, David Anderson of Erie, PA, and Johnathan DiSano of Erie, PA; two sisters, Ann Cookson of Mayville and Linda Potter of Randleman, NC; and her best friend, Bonnie Sundlov of Lakewood.
She was preceded in death by her son Greg Anderson who died August 1, 1993.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday (December 12, 2015) at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Mayville. Rev. Ivy Gauvin will officiate.
The Freay Funeral Home in Mayville is in charge of arrangements.
