MAYVILLE-Suzanne Yvonne Morton DePonceau, 72, of Jamestown, and formerly of Mayville, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Heritage Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Gerry, NY.

She was born, December 30, 1945 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late George "Bub" and Gertrude Estes Morton.

Suzanne had been a homemaker at her home in Mayville. She was also a life member of the Mayville VFW Post 8647 and had at attended the former Buffalo Street United Methodist Church in Jamestown.

She enjoyed NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Steelers, baking, fishing, fostering cats and dogs from the Humane Society, and time with her children and grandchildren.

Suzanne is survived by her three children; Yvette (Scott Hall) Winans of Celeron, Mark (Ann) Hemminger of Dewittville, and Darren Textor of Mayville, two step sons; Michael and Eric DePonceau of Salamanaca, six grandchildren; Jason (Amanda) Bajdo, Kimberly Bajdo, Cody and Katelyn Winans, and Nicole and Courtney Hemminger, and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Philip DePonceau, whom she married December 16, 1997, her parents, a step daughter; Karen Flint, and her grandmother; Mabel Gay.

The funeral will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. The Rev. Steven Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Mayville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9PM on Friday, November 2, 2018, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society; 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY14701.
