JAMESTOWN- Theodore "Ted" W. Osborne, 73, of Jamestown, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the Heritage Green Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenhurst, NY, following a lengthy illness. He was born August 23, 1952, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Elmer and Nona Vimmerstedt Osborne.

Ted had attended Mayville Central School before completing coursework at JCC and SUNY Fredonia where he earned a bachelor's degree. Ted then worked as the Recycling Coordinator for the Chautauqua County Landfill in Ellery for 20 years before retiring in 2006.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley Motorcycle, golfing, and rooting for the NY Giants and Cleveland Guardians.

Ted is survived by his loving wife, Ada Whitehill Osborne, whom he married on July 14, 1973, a son, Alex Osborne of Jamestown and a daughter, Erika Osborne (Justin) of Jamestown, two grandchildren, Hadley and Marnie Hanson, a sister, Chris Schnars of Jamestown, a brother, Andy Osborne of Jamestown, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jamie Schnars, and a brother in-law, Jim Schnars.

The family will receive friends for calling hours on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 4-7PM at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S Erie St).
