MAYVILLE - Thomas A. Parker, 88, of Mayville and formerly of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 with family at his side.

He was born July 25, 1933 in Mayville on the family farm, the son of the late Charles V. and Bertella A. Greene Parker.

Tom was a 1951 graduate of Mayville Central School. After high school he enlisted into the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for ten years. During the Korean war he was stationed in Japan and Newfoundland as an Aircraft Mechanic.

After his military service he returned home and worked for several years with Growers Co Op in Westfield. He then worked as a telephone installer for the C & E Telephone Corporation in Westfield, from which he retired. In addition, he always made time for running the family beef farm in Mayville.

Tom was a member the Mason's, and the William P. Jackway Westfield VFW Post 6764.

He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, farming, and most of all, time with his family, including one of the family dogs, Riley.

Tom is survived by his son; David Lane (Gretchen) Parker of Mayville, six grandchildren; Justin (Erin) Parker of Mayville, Samantha (Lee) Gilmore of Mayville, Benjamin (Nickki) Parker of Columbus, OH, Sarah (Steve) Pfleuger of Brocton, Stephanie (Chad) Beck of Sheridan, and Katie (Paul) Parker of Buffalo, five step children; Brenda (Jim) Sutton of Augusta, KS, Debbie (Bruce) Weaver of Northeast, PA, Cindy Work of Westfield, Edward (Laurie) Work II of Westfield, and John (Suanne) Work of Westfield, and many step grandchildren. great grandchildren, step great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife; Martha Faye Bates Parker, his second wife; Diana Bourne Work Parker, a daughter; Anita Diana Parker, two sisters: Pearl Hartwig and Helen Jean Catino, and one infant brother.

The funeral will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St). The Rev. Nick Perry will officiate. Burial will be in the Westfield Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7PM on Friday, August 13 at the funeral home.
