MAYVILLE- Will David Lutgen, 56, of Mayville, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Westfield Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born December 19, 1964 in Westfield, NY the son of Carol Near Westmoreland and the late David Lutgen.

Will was a 1983 graduate of Mayville Central School. He then proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1983 to 1986. After being honorably discharged he worked as a general contractor for many years until retiring early after becoming disabled.

He was a life member of the Lake Chautauqua VFW Post 8647. He enjoyed time with friends at the Hartfield Bay Café and tinkering on lawn mowers and vehicles and was able to fix anything.

Will is survived by his mother; Carol Near Westmoreland of Westfield, his companion; Jennifer McConnell of Mayville, his ex-wife; Larenda Jandrew Lutgen of Mayville, two daughters; Sabrina (Brandon) Barrett of Mayville and Tiffiny (Victor) Lutgen of Mayville, five grandchildren, three siblings; Scot (Sally) Strand of Pittsfield, PA, Todd (Carla) Strand of Hartfield, NY, and Tonya (Bill) Shapins of Winter Garden, FL, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother; Nick Lutgen.

At Will's request there will be no public services observed. A private graveside service with military honors will be held in the Mayville cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations can be given to his family to help offset final expenses.
